Built to be trusted

A live compass

The dial follows your phone as you turn, with clear left and right guidance until you face the Qibla.

Private by design

Your location is used only on your device to calculate the direction. It is never sent to us or stored on a server.

Works offline

After your first visit the page is saved on your phone, so it still opens without internet. Add it to your home screen to use it like an app.

17 languages

Every page is available in your language, from Arabic and Turkish to Indonesian, Japanese and Ukrainian.

Precise calculation

The direction is calculated along the shortest path over the globe, the same method used by mosques and Islamic authorities.

Easy on the eyes

Choose light or dark mode for night prayers, and switch between a compass dial or a single large arrow.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this Qibla finder?

The Qibla angle is calculated from your coordinates with the great-circle formula, accurate to a fraction of a degree. The live compass depends on your phone’s magnetic sensor, so calibrate it and keep away from metal for the best result.

Do I need to install an app?

No. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers. If you like, add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. After you visit once, the page is saved on your device. Your phone’s GPS works without internet, so you can find the Qibla while traveling. Only the map and online city search need a connection.

Is my location stored or shared?

No. The calculation happens on your device. Your last location is saved only in your own browser so the result appears instantly next time, and you can clear it at any time by clearing site data.

Why does the compass not move on my computer?

Most laptops and desktops have no compass sensor. Use the angle shown, measured clockwise from North, with a physical compass, or open this page on your phone.

Why is the Qibla not where a flat map suggests?

The Earth is round, so the shortest path to Makkah is a curved line on flat maps. From North America, for example, the Qibla points northeast rather than southeast. Read how it works.

What should I do if the compass seems wrong or jumps?

Calibrate by moving your phone in a figure 8, remove magnetic cases or car mounts, and step away from metal. The calibration guide covers every common problem.
